no difference

what do you see with your eyes trained on a tree?
what do you hear when your ears take in birdsong?
what do you feel when your fingers touch soil?

turn questions around
so that what becomes who
when you ponder them
know that they regard you

we sing the same songs
we bear the same sorrows
we fill the same stories
we hope for tomorrows

this home of our mothers
we embody together
created and bound
by this same cyclical tether

no lines drawn between us
no difference in mind
all manifold paths one
for life is earth kind

so see ancient wisdom
hear joyful pride
feel throbbing love
for this miraculous life
